Art Spectrum® Naples Yellow Soft Round Pastel shade.
A lovely pale pinkish gold yellow made using Mars Yellow. Mars Yellow was developed in the 1800s as an equivalent to Yellow Ochre but it gains extra strength from the absence of clay. The original Naples Yellow was one of the first synthetic pigments made in the 1620s. Made with lead, it was extremely toxic, however, this colour is completely lead-free of lead.
Look out for this colour on ancient Babylonian and Assyrian ceramic glazes, and even Egyptian glass from the XIX Dynasty.
